Season 14 Episode 5 “Manhattan Vigil”

A boy is kidnapped while in the care of his father, and the case is eerily reminiscent of an unsolved abduction that occurred in the same neighborhood 13 years earlier. The similarities don’t stop there, as it seems the two cases may turn out to be related.

Season 6 Episode 8 “Doubt”

A college student claims rape and her professor claims it was consensual, leading to a battle within the squad about where the truth lies. The episode ends on a cliffhanger that leaves viewers wondering ultimately who it was that the jury believed. 

Season 7 Episode 3 “911”

When a nine-year-old girl calls 911 for help, saying she is locked in a room, the team finds they cannot track the call due to a virus infecting the switchboard. Tensions rise as they try to keep her on the line to track her down. 

Season 9 Episode 15 “Undercover”

When a teenage girl says a corrections officer raped her and has also been threatening her mother in prison, Benson risks her own safety to go deep undercover and investigate.

Season 9 Episode 17 “Authority”

A fast food manager receives a call from someone he believes is a cop, telling him to strip search and detain an employee. In a twist, the caller is not a cop, but an audio engineer played by Robin Williams. This episode is based on a bizarre real-life case that will stick in your mind after watching.

Season 15 Episode 1 “Surrender Benson”

The season 15 premiere continues a cliffhanger from the previous season, where Benson is held hostage by a serial rapist and killer in a Long Island beach home while the rest of the SVU squad takes drastic measures to find her and her abductor.
