Law & Order: SVU Episode Nominated for GLAAD Media Award
We are thrilled to share that Law & Order: SVU has received a GLAAD Media nomination for Outstanding Individual Episode (in a series without a regular LGBTQ character). The nominated episode, titled Murdered at a Bad Address, features a guest appearance by Guillermo Diaz, whose character’s lifelong secret about his sexuality lands him wrongfully convicted of murder.
“We know we have more work to do in terms of inclusion and diversity, but we thank GLAAD — one of the first and most effective advocacy groups — for recognizing Murdered at a Bad Address for this nomination,” said Warren Leight, Executive Producer and SVU showrunner. “Special thanks to co-writer Denis Hamill and star Guillermo Díaz for their work on this episode.”
The GLAAD Media Awards honor fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues in entertainment. This year’s virtual ceremony will stream on GLAAD’s Facebook and YouTube on July 30th at 8pm ET, and will air on Logo on August 3rd at 8pm ET.
